Due to an unfortunate bug in Reason 12.2.9 some VSTs that were previously working fine in Reason 12 might fail the initial VST scanning during launch of Reason 12.2.9 on macOS.
What usually happens is that the VST scanning stops with this alert:
Press Skip to continue with the scanning. If you get the alert for several VSTs, just click Skip for each one of them.
When the scanning is finished, this alert shows up:
If you then open the Manage Plugins window in Reason 12.2.9 the crashed VSTs show up in the list as "Crashed":
To solve this problem, download and install Reason 12.2.8 here.
- Launch Reason 12.2.8 and it will rescan your VSTs again - hopefully without errors this time.
- Once the scanning is finished, check in the Manage Plugins window in Reason 12.2.8 that all VSTs in the list have the Status "Enabled".
- Shut down Reason 12.2.8 and launch Reason 12.2.9.
- If everything went well, Reason 12.2.9 should now launch without any VST scanning and your plugins should now work again.
The bug in Reason 12.2.9 will be fixed in a Reason 12 update shortly.
We're very sorry for the inconvenience!
