As of July 1, 2024, Rent-to-Own is no longer supported as a purchase method for Rack Extensions in our shop.
The Rent-to-Own functionality was only used by a small fraction of shop customers. In addition, our payment provider has added pay-over-time alternatives in all major markets in recent years, improving the available options for users who prefer to pay in installments. With one technical solution less to support in-house, our developers are better placed to focus on what matters most: building the Reason product.
If you are actively paying instalments on a Rent-to-Own product, you can continue doing so until you own the license. There is no longer an option to pause the instalments, but you can opt to cancel the plan entirely should you wish to. As previously communicated, inactive Rent-to-Own plans that were not reactivated by September 3, 2025, have expired.
And it goes without saying—any Rack Extension licenses resulting from completed Rent-to-Own purchases are yours to keep.
