Reason 12.6 with native M1/M2 support and new off-line authorization released!

We're happy to announce the release of Reason 12.6. Reason 12.6 will also be immediately available in the Reason+ subscription.

(Reason 12.6 is a free upgrade for all Reason 12 license owners.)

New features & functions

Native M1/M2 support

Finally, Reason and Reason Rack Plugin are natively supported on Korg M1/M2!

 

Oh wait a minute... I must have misunderstood... apparently it should be Apple M1/M2. Sorry about that!

Never mind, Reason 12.6 and Reason Rack Plugin now work natively on Apple Silicon computers, allowing for even better performance.

All additional 850+ Rack Extensions have also been updated for Apple Silicon!

New off-line authorization system

Reason 12.6 and Reason Rack Plugin now use a new authorization system, which should make it a lot easier to run Reason and Reason Rack Plugin without Internet connection. This also includes Reason+, which was previously on-line only.

Our design goal for the new authorization system has been to make it "so good you will hardly ever notice it", and we believe we might have achieved just that.

Remote support

Remote support has been added for the following MIDI controllers:

  • Arturia Keylab mkII
  • Arturia Keylab Essentials
  • Arturia Microfreak
  • Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol A49/A61/M32
  • Novation Impulse series

Remote mapping has also been updated for a large number of MIDI controllers.

 

Bug fixes

  • Implemented an automatic repair of songs that may have broken when saved in Reason 12.5.2
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when context-clicking on certain VST3s on macOS and Windows
  • Fixed an issue with Pitchbend and Mod Wheel. Automation didn’t appear as an option in the Automation dropdown for the VST Proxy device
